Inventory Clerk
Purpose of the Job:
The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for the accurate processing of a variety of incoming/outgoing materials such as parts, supplies, etc. In addition, this position will be responsible for the clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, storing and order picking, as well as monitoring of INOVA’s product stock.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Count, weigh or measure incoming and outgoing items
- Process material request forms
- Record and monitor product, orders and invoices
- Responsible for picking, counting, sorting, packing and unpacking materials
- Gather and record transaction forms on a daily basis
- Perform cycle counts
- Ensure that inventory area is kept clean and organized
- Record and monitor all adjustments and changes made to inventory quantities
- Record and monitor all inventory related receipts
- Verify that the recorded electronic data is consistent with the Physical Inventory system, and make corrections and adjustments accordingly
- Work in accordance with all legislation and company policy requirements pertaining to employee safety, health and wellness.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Shipping / Receiving related occupation
- Demonstrated capability of working with MRP systems, preferably Syteline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize day-to-day activities and issues
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills with a proficiency in word processing and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
Would be considered an asset:
- Knowledge or previous training in W.H.M.I.S
- Forklift certification
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for significant periods of time on a hard concrete floor
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to twist / bend at waist and crouch
- Ability to climb stairs / ladder
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment
- Sometimes subject to loud noises
