Position Overview
The IT Technician is responsible for the operational activities related to the Help Desk system. First point of contact for customer requests. Through various interactions (e-mail, telephone, walk-in, etc), the individual will process these requests through the complete cycle.
The IT Technician’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for configuring and deploying of IT equipment using the standardized tools
- Responsible for the administration of the supported software portfolio, which includes tracking of software licenses, versions and patches.
- Maintaining in-depth, technical knowledge of the infrastructure's components, capabilities and associated diagnostic/troubleshooting/management tools.
- Administer access to infrastructure components, by monitoring, enabling and limiting access, to ensure the integrity, privacy and security of the service and associated data.
- Execute project leader duties through all phases of the project life cycle
- Produce technical documentation for new and existing infrastructures.
- Communicate and disseminate information, through written reports and group presentations, to inform customers of issues/opportunities affecting the infrastructure
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of outsourcing partners by setting priorities, delegating and reviewing the quality of work, to ensure continued availability of IT Service Catalog.
- Enforce and educate user community of IT security policies as defined by the site, the division, and the corporation
- Responsible for providing overall support for the underground & surface iPhones used for site wide communication with Microsoft Teams & PowerApps.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Related post-secondary education.
- Fully qualified level role with 1-3 years of directly related experience.
- Working independently and within a team with minimal supervision
- Collaborate cross functionally at all levels within the business.
- Results oriented individual with strong analytical and problem solving skills who thrives working in a fast paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and able to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- Bilingual in French and English would be considered an asset.
