It Technician

Family owned and operated for 40 years. Great Lakes Greenhouses is a 118-acre conventional cucumber, mini cucumber, Organic Pepper, and Organic Mini Eggplant farm.

Based in Leamington, Ontario, Great Lakes Greenhouses was founded in 1983 at which time it consisted of 2.5 acres of greenhouses, under glass. We specialize in long English seedless cucumbers, not only making us the largest single-site cucumber grower and packer in North America, but globally as well.

Our mandate is to produce the healthiest safest food. At Great Lakes Greenhouses we pride ourselves on maintaining quality and excellence in everything we do.

Requirements:

• Self-motivated and hard working
• Outgoing, responsible and trustworthy
• Proven problem solving skills
• Experience in IT minimum of 2 years
• Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
• Familiarity with agriculture software, such as Famous and Hortimax
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Qualifications:

• Hands on experience with installing, maintaining and servicing computer related products such as desktops, notebooks, servers and network devices.
• Experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently in a busy and varied environment
• Low Voltage Trouble Shooting (Trouble shooting controls, Transducers, Temp Transmitters, 4-20MA circuits)
• PLC Programming (Omron PLCs, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
• Having the understanding or experience in a Greenhouse environment would be an asset

Pay is based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Organize and support several projects concurrently
• Work with client to help identify issues, research and help client rectify their concern
• Work in partnership with our vendors and suppliers to provide superior support to our clients
• Must be a team player
