Elgin Manor, a County of Elgin Long-Term Care Home, has an exciting opportunity for students enrolled in a Nursing Program! We are looking to hire students who have successfully completed their first year of a Nursing Program to work as Personal Support Workers over the Summer, and may be extended until the end of the Nursing Program (reviewed annually).
Elgin Manor “the home where the heart is” is a 90 bed long-term care facility located in the Township of Southwold just minutes outside of St. Thomas, ON. As a PSW Nursing Student you will gain valuable experiences through hands-on resident care, receive support from leaders and colleagues, and gain exposure of a long-term care home environment.
Responsibilities:
As a PSW Nursing Student, you will work alongside our Personal Support Workers to provide daily care to all of the residents in accordance with the established routine procedures.

- Must have successfully completed 1st year of a Nursing Program.
- Must have completed school placements in a Long-Term Care, hospital and/or community settings.
- Must provide proof you will be returning to full-time post-secondary school in Fall 2024.
- Experience in Geriatrics or equivalent.
- Good communication skills.
