Nursing Student

Job Summary:
Camp Shalom is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Nursing Student to join our team for the summer season. The Nursing Student will work under the supervision of the Camp Nurse to provide medical care, support camper health and safety, and contribute to the overall well-being of campers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Care Support:
• Assist the Camp Nurse in assessing and treating illnesses and injuries among campers and staff.
• Administer medications and treatments under the direction and supervision of the Camp Nurse.
• Provide first aid and basic medical care as needed.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and organized health center.
• Communication:
• Communicate effectively with campers, staff, and parents regarding medical concerns and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the Camp Nurse and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for campers.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical information and respect privacy rights of campers and staff.
• Health Promotion and Education:
• Assist in promoting health and wellness activities and initiatives throughout the camp community.
• Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating healthy habits and behaviors.
• Emergency Response:
• Assist in implementing emergency response plans and protocols as directed by the Camp Nurse.
• Participate in emergency drills and simulations to ensure readiness to respond to medical emergencies.
• Provide support and assistance during medical emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a nursing program at an accredited institution.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Salary: $450.00-$550.00 per week
