Job description

DATE: January 2024

ROLE TITLE: Jubilee House Team Lead

PLACEMENT: .5FTE

At Redwood, we create safe, affordable, hopeful housing where people thrive in community. We envision a hope-filled community where everyone has a place to call home. We value collective belonging, hope, innovative leadership, and solidarity. Our work is rooted in the understanding that housing is a human right and vital to health and wellbeing. We believe the opposite of homelessness is community.

Jubilee House is Redwood’s newest property. However, it has provided supportive housing to women and their children in Orillia since 2000 under Couchiching Jubilee House, which joined Redwood in February 2023. We are pleased to build on the good work and reputation of Couchiching Jubilee House as we establish a presence in Orillia to help meet the affordable housing needs in the community.

Reporting to the Supportive Community Coordinator, this position will be part of a multi-faceted team that oversees creating and operating safe, affordable, hopeful communities of housing and shared spaces across a spectrum of affordability, location, size, permanence, and support. The Jubilee House Team Lead, alongside the
Housing, Clinical, Supportive Community, and Volunteer teams, will build a community of support for current, former, and future residents, volunteers, staff, and our broader community by creating spaces for lives to intersect, by connecting people with local support services and agencies for professional assistance, and by providing practical and emotional support on a day-to-day basis. The JH Team Lead will create warm, welcoming spaces, coordinate side-by-side supports and case management, and develop hope through housing.
