Position Summary
We are seeking a Junior Process/Chemical Engineer with the key activities; working with heat and material balance and process simulations, performing hydraulic calculations, preparation of equipment/ instrument datasheets, line lists, and process design basis, contributing to the development of PFDs, P&IDs, and operating guidelines.
Other responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development of process design for projects or proposals.
• Assisting in the preparation of design specifications, computations, and drawings.
• Assisting in the design of component parts and individual units.
• Reviewing vendor or subcontractor quotations, drawings and specifications for technical adequacy and conformance with project requirements.
• Developing PFD & P&IDs.
• Preparing process studies and design documentation.
• Performing equipment sizing, line sizing and pipeline hydraulic calculations.
• Developing instrument process specifications and sizing of in-line devices.
• Performing other duties as requested.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Completion of Mechanical Engineering Degree
• 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• New grad with relevant co-op and academic work experience would be considered.
• Familiar with bid and tendering process.
• Experience with Aspen HYSYS and/or AFT Fathom (or similar) would be an asset
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, material handling, piping design, vessel design, process design.
• Ability to design, maintain, and review technical documentation including project execution plans, design documents, and specifications (on drawing, performance, and book).
• Has an interest in multidisciplinary work and understand the needs and requirements of other engineering disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, personable, and committed to producing high-quality work.
• Sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
• Excellent time management and project management skills.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
