POSITION TITLE:**JUNIOR APPLICATION/PROJECT ENGINEER

Position Summary
The Junior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the projects team for the design and fabrication of gas processing equipment. The projects team includes but is not limited to; Project Management, Engineering, Estimating and Shop personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the Junior Project Engineer encompasses many activities including:
- Technical support during the primary stages of a project including but not limited to; initiation, planning, execution and close out.
- Estimating assistance during the biding stage of a potential project.
- Technical documentation including but not limited to; data sheets, line list, turnover and final documentation.
- Review specifications to aid in the preparation of bids and/or the successful execution of a project.
- Working with clients and vendors.
- General administrative requirements pertaining to the design, bidding or execution of projects.
- Other duties as required.
Direct Reports
The Junior Project Engineer is a motivated member of a team working together in the most efficient manner. The position has no direct reports.
Tools, Systems, Equipment and Machinery
Provided a Personal Computer/laptop with Microsoft Office, Estimating software.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for long periods at a time focused on a computer screen or CAD drawings.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel within the Province of Alberta.
Working Environment
Works in a controlled office environment. Occasional visits to the fabrication shop which requires appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
Communications
Effectively communicates relevant project information to the team. Interacts in a respectful and cooperative manner. Attends regular status meetings with the project team. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Qualifications
- E.I.T (Engineer-In-Training) status with APEGA is required.
- T.T. (Technologist-in-Training) membership with ASET is required.
- Three years’ experience in a similar role is required.
- Good knowledge of process simulation software e.g. HYSYS, VMG, good knowledge of ASME / ANSI / API Codes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Field experience in commissioning/start-up or Operations in Oil and Gas facilities is an asset.
