McMillan-McGee Corp (Mc2) is a Calgary-based environmental technology firm engaged in the environmental businesses of thermal soil and groundwater remediation, servicing clients across North America and globally.
Mc2 is the inventor of ET-DSP and IT-DSP, globally recognized, thermal technologies for soil and groundwater remediation. Mc2 environmental remediation projects involve heating the subsurface to volatilize contaminants so that they can be removed and properly disposed of.
McMillan-McGee is searching for a Junior or Intermediate Project Engineer to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team of the preeminent authorities in thermal remediation. The successful candidate must have a passion for advanced technologies and developing science-based solutions to solving some of the most complicated and challenging environmental problems around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full implementation process—from design and construction to operations and closeout—of thermal remediation applications at project sites worldwide.
- Develop remedial action work plans, design reports, design drawing packages, pilot work plans, and other documents for client and regulatory approval.
- Carry out fieldwork, encompassing construction oversight, start-up and acceptance testing, and training for system operators.
- Adhere to quality, budget, and schedule requirements while fulfilling scope-specific assignments.
- Assist in laboratory experiments aimed at determining soil electrical and thermal properties and optimizing the recovery of new and emerging contaminants.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to monitor project progress, report findings, and make necessary adjustments as required to our thermal systems.
- Work closely with and maintain constant communication with clients, including Fortune 500 companies and local, federal, and state/provincial agencies, ensuring alignment with project needs and objectives.
- Identifying and assisting with detailed review of project opportunities and developing comprehensive proposals for clients.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering
- Must be registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PEng) in the province of Alberta, or have the ability to obtain registration at the time of hire.
- Junior position experience: 1-3 years combined technical and project management experience working on environmental or process system related projects.
- Intermediate position experience: 5- 8 years combined technical and project management experience environmental or process system related projects.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, possess mechanical aptitude, and exhibit hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Valid driver’s license and driving record that is in good standing.
- Ability to travel local and internationally up 25%.
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with Autodesk (AutoCad, Inventor, etc.).
· Experience with treatment system vessel and conveyance piping sizing.
· Experience navigating environmental regulatory frameworks.
· Understanding of drilling concepts and techniques.

Salary: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
