Reporting to the Manager, Integrity Projects, the Project Engineer will be responsible for executing projects required by the Kingston Midstream Integrity Management & Sustainment Programs and in support of the Corporate Plan. The Project Engineer will manage projects to ensure they are executed in accordance with approved scopes, schedules, and budgets and that all activities are conducted in compliance with Kingston Midstream policies and procedures and applicable regulations. This position will focus on Integrity projects including cathodic protection, pipeline depth of cover, geohazards, pipeline or tank repairs, pipeline or tank/facility inspections. Sustainment projects include piping upgrades, rotating equipment upgrades, measurement and metering projects, and tank/vessel projects.
Note: The successful candidate will be able to work out of our Estevan, SK or Calgary, AB office.
Position Responsibilities
- Execute projects in a manner that develops and maintains sound relationships with customers, contractors, regulators, communities, landowners, and other significant stakeholders.
- Plan and execute engineering, construction, and maintenance activities in accordance with the Company’s health, safety & environmental standards, design specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Plan, develop, and design project scopes, budgets, and schedules to execute integrity projects safely and effectively.
- Fully accountable for the daily management of project activities including planning, designing and safely executing a variety of system integrity projects assessment, planning, management, execution, and reporting of project activities.
- Direct the efforts of internal and external departments, consultants, and contractors, including those outside the incumbent’s engineering discipline, to ensure that project scopes, project schedules, and project budgets meet company objectives.
- Execute Capital and Expense projects up to $2,000,000 and higher on occasion.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree or suitable Technical Designation
- Registered as a Professional Engineer within Canada. Eligible for registration with APEGS or APEGM or APPEGA.
- 4 – 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience related to pipeline and facility integrity and pipeline operations. Familiarity with CSA Z662, National Energy Board Onshore Pipeline Regulations, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial Pipeline regulations.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative and the ability to work effectively, either independently or in a team environment
- Previous project management experience would be an asset.
