Laboratory Technician

(Open to Canadian residents only)

The ideal candidates will have a background in either forestry, horticulture, environmental sciences or a related discipline.

Requirements:

· Knowledge in the field of biotechnology generally and/or mycorrhizal fungi specifically.

· Knowledge of laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques. (Willing to train)

· Valid Ontario drivers license class G.

· Knowledge of GIS mapping systems.

· Must be punctual with good work ethic and flexibility.

· Knowledge of Microsoft suite.

Responsibilities:

· Weigh and prepare dry and liquid chemicals.

· Adjust pH levels of liquid medias.

· Perform aseptic techniques.

· Work under flow hoods.

· Prepare reports and documents.

· Perform field work involving the use of offroad vehicles.

· Use GIS mapping systems.

· Data collection.

· Light cleaning duties.

· Other duties as assigned.
