Administrative Full-time New Position

The Leadership & Development Consultant will focus on College-wide programs, coaching, policies, and practices that focus on leadership development and training at all levels, and on training related to employee satisfaction and engagement, work in the college sector, workplace wellbeing, EDI, AODA, change management and emerging societal trends. This position will use qualitative and quantitative information to create and monitor programs, policies, and practices and will provide strategic and practical advice regarding actions needed to be taken by the College. The Leadership Development Consultant will work with leaders at all levels across all employee groups. These activities will improve the performance of the managers and leaders within the Conestoga College community.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement from both a remote and on-site perspective.
Responsibilities:
Leadership Development Programs
The incumbent will play a key role in the design, development, and execution of leadership development programs by:
- Designing and developing learning opportunities using a variety of methodologies for college-wide stakeholders
- Delivering programs and workshops to increase capacity and competency in work in the college sector, workplace wellbeing, EDI, AODA, change management, and emerging societal trends.
- Supporting Special Interest Groups through Employee Experience and Development
- Providing opportunities for engaging leaders and managers with specific training and development programs
- Aligning training and development programs with College strategic plan
Coaching Development
The incumbent will support the development of the practice of coaching through:
- Conducting analyses to determine needs of various college stakeholders
- Designing and developing coaching development programs
- Supporting leaders and managers in developing skills to effectively practice coaching with their teams
- Providing one-on-one coaching to assist with leadership development plans
Additional work in Employee Experience and Development
The incumbent will provide support to the Employee Experience and Development department including but not limited to:
- Administering inventories such as SDI 2.0, HPTi, and DiSC to provide self-awareness for leaders and a specific training plan moving forward
- Analyzing employee engagement/pulse survey results
- Working with departments to determine areas for development based on qualitative and quantitative information
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business, Leadership, or related field of study
- Minimum seven years of relevant work experience, such as creating and executing organization-wide training and development programming, supporting team development, and providing one-on-one coaching and support
- Coaching certification would be considered an asset
- Teacher/Trainer of Adults certification would be an asset
- Training Developer certificate would be an asset
- Research and analytical skills
- Strong facilitation and teaching or training experience
- Advanced human relations and conflict resolution skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Previous experience managing diverse teams while demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills is considered an asset
- High levels of proficiency in computer and software such as Microsoft Office applications
