Legal Assistant

We are a small, busy law firm based in Airdrie seeking a Legal Assistant.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Hours:

• 8:30am to 4:30pm

Experience:

• Legal Assistant: +1 year (preferred)

Duties:

• Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal professionals
• Assist with proofreading and editing legal documents for accuracy and clarity
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department
• Perform data entry tasks to input and update client information in databases
• Manage document management systems to organize and maintain legal files
• Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence, memos, and other legal documents
• Maintain an organized filing system for easy retrieval of documents
• Assist with the preparation of legal contracts and agreements

Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and motivated self starter
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
• Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Prior experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
