We are a small, busy law firm based in Airdrie seeking a Legal Assistant.
Salary is dependent on experience.
Hours:
- 8:30am to 4:30pm
Experience:
- Legal Assistant: +1 year (preferred)
Duties:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal professionals
- Assist with proofreading and editing legal documents for accuracy and clarity
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department
- Perform data entry tasks to input and update client information in databases
- Manage document management systems to organize and maintain legal files
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence, memos, and other legal documents
- Maintain an organized filing system for easy retrieval of documents
- Assist with the preparation of legal contracts and agreements
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and motivated self starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Prior experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
