The Law office of Suzanne Dajczak is a busy boutique law office providing specialized legal services in the area of Workplace Safety and Insurance Law and Employment Law to clients throughout the Province. We are currently seeking a legal assistant with a passion for customer service who enjoys a fast paced environment and has excellent time management and organizational skills who are keen to expand their knowledge and enjoys working with supportive and knowledgeable colleagues.
Responsibilities will include
-opening and closing files,
-answering client inquiries,
-drafting and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
-maintaining a physical and electronic case management system
-preparing reports including gathering and summarizing data
-file appeal documentation
-enter time dockets
-schedule hearings
-keeping files and tickler system up to date
-legal research
=prepare invoices and retainers
-general office administration including bookkeeping functions
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in the legal industry preferably in Plaintiff Personal injury work or WSIB claim management
- Team-player attitude with strong communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent work ethic
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office, PCLaw, Sage, Adobe and Abacus
- Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a high volume environment
- Willingness to learn
- Attention to detail
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong working knowledge with all accounting and billing procedures
- Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma, or similar.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
