Role Mission: Hiring a smart, positive, highly organized, proactive, good-natured person with experience managing earned media campaigns for Life Sciences companies — either at a Life Sciences marketing/PR agency or in-house. Established media contacts in the space is a must and a strong portfolio of contributed articles is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities for the role

• Secure coverage in trade publications and national media outlets that create and uphold a positive image for our clients
• Leverage existing B2B Life Sciences media contacts to secure coverage for clients
• Continually develop new relationships with media organizations and influencers
• Pitch stories and angles to the media with a high success rate of securing interest and coverage
• Assist in developing PR strategies and bring new, innovative ideas to the table
• Assist in tracking campaign success and presenting reports to clients
• Interview SMEs and write technical byline articles for placement in publications
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends

Mandatory Skills

• 3-5 years experience working for Life Sciences companies or for marketing/Public Relations agencies specializing in B2B Life Sciences and biotech clients
• Strong understanding of the Life Sciences industry. Willingness to learn and communicate highly technical topics extremely quickly.
• Proven track record of securing editorial coverage (must provide examples)
• An editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences
• Experience working with diverse marketing teams (content, digital, development teams)
• Exceptional communication skills (written + verbal + listening) and confidence in presenting to senior-level executives
• Extremely strong project management skills
• Ability to self-manage and consistently meet deadlines while juggling multiple assignments
• Easy to get along with (soft skills)
• Willingness to work from a dedicated home office
• Ability to travel for client meetings and events as needed
• International earned media experience is a plus
• Celebrity endorsement work for B2B companies is a plus
• Available at least half the time during client hours (9 to 5 CST) for meetings. We are flexible with schedule but it is important that working hours accommodate client meeting needs, which typically take place in the morning US time.
