Duties
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes in our kitchen. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and meets quality standards
- Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation guidelines
- Clean and maintain workstations, equipment, and utensils
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience working in a kitchen environment. Experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
- Familiarity with the food industry and various cooking methods
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate portioning and plating of dishes
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff members
