Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Wage: $21.02 per hour ($43,721.60 annually)
Hours Per Week: 40 hours/week
Schedule: 9AM-5PM Mon-Fri with some weekends required
3 Weeks Paid Vacation plus Health & Dental Benefits
Job Summary: To help coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day logistics of the Daily Meal & Outreach Programs with a primary focus on inventory management.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities (Functions essential to the performance of this job):
- Responsible for ensuring that all inventory practices meet the guidelines set out in the Food Banks Canada Standards of Excellence.
- Responsible for all inventory management and working with the Kitchen Manager to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet the demand.
- Responsible for keeping all storage areas, including fridges and freezers, clean, organized, and safe.
- Responsible for the efficient coordination of all food to our community partners in partnership with the Transportation Manager and Kitchen Manager.
- Responsible for building relationships with community partners to share donations as needed.
- Responsible for weighing, sorting, tracking, and reporting all food donations that are received.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of systems to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Responsible for organizing volunteer crews to assist in activities in partnership with the Office Manager.
- Responsible for timely communication of issues to management.
- Responsible for performing deliveries with our vehicle in partnership with the Transportation Manager.
- Responsible for filling in for Transportation Manager as required.
- Responsible for providing logistics support for all events, fundraisers & workshops.
- All other duties that may be assigned from time-to-time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and to lift 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to grasp, lift, reach, crouch, stand, walk, and carry for long periods of time.
•. Daily access to a vehicle, a valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract required.
- 1-3 years in management, operations or administrative roles considered an asset.
- Experience in food preparation and a kitchen environment considered an asset.
- Experience in warehouse operations considered an asset.
- Food Safety Certificate required but training can be provided.
- First Aid Certificate required but training can be provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong digital literacy.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage, coordinate & motivate small and medium groups of people.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
- A self-starter, ambitious, with a positive attitude.
- Bilingual considered an asset.
