Maintenance Clerk

As a Maintenance Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our maintenance operations by overseeing and managing the inventory of parts and supplies necessary for the upkeep of equipment and school board facilities. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to maintaining accurate inventory records, ordering necessary parts (obtaining competitive quotes), coordinating corrective and preventive services, organizing storage areas, processing work orders, invoices, and ensuring that all required items are readily available to support maintenance activities.

Under the direction of the Manager of Facilities Services, the Maintenance Clerk provides support to the Facilities Services Department, Manager, Supervisors, Maintenance staff, and contractors relating to the provision of maintenance services to the school board’s facilities in accordance with policies procedures and best practices in a safe and effective manner. The work is performed within both an office and maintenance warehouse environment, and may include exposure to varying weather conditions when receiving inventory or warehouse hazards. Requires the ability to lift objects and tools into and out of storage locations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5 years) in inventory management, preferably in a maintenance or technical environment.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in inventory tracking software and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
• Familiar and comfortable using office equipment (copiers, phones, computers, etc.).
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven time management, scheduling and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support cross functional/department activities.
• Knowledge of maintenance parts and supplies terminology is advantageous.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional post secondary education or certification in inventory management is an asset.
• First Aid Certification would be an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $23.30 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
