Position Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for organizing the preventative, corrective, and improvement of maintenance activities of the Maintenance Department by coordinating machines, parts, services and staff availability. This position will be essential in establishing PM schedules in coordination with production schedules and the generation of
Operational Activities:
- Responsible for supporting the Continuous Improvement Process through participation, addressing, and closing issues timely; initiate improvement projects based upon review of maintenance data.
- Responsible for compliance to all policies, procedures, safety, quality, and sanitation rules and government regulations.
- Assign maintenance personnel work via CMMS as required.
- Track and assess mechanical efficiency and maintenance costs.
- Track and update the site CMMS program (including lubrication, inspections, shutdown work, entering new equipment and procedures).
- Plan and schedule overhaul and shutdown work
- Maintain equipment repair histories (including mean time between failures, costs, etc)
- Generate site KPI reports with regards to effective maintenance.
- Coordinate outside contractors as necessary.
- Work with Parts Coordinators to ensure necessary parts are on hand to complete assigned work.
- Interact with other departments as required.
- Compliance with all company and plant rules.
- Participate in plant Safety, Health & Environment initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Other duties as assigned
About you!
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years experience with Packaging Operations, Maintenance and equipment
- Must have experience in the operation of a computerized inventory management system (CMMS).
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Organizational skills are strongly required to manage the load of Work Requests and Work Orders to ensure work flow continues to run smoothly.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence others. Ability to communicate effectively with mechanical staff in order to facilitate the execution of work orders and projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to build collaborative relationships and networks with multiple and diverse stakeholders, internal and external partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to drive change and innovation by gathering knowledge and resources to ensure tasks are completed within timelines to a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Ability to understand and influence teams to adapt to new ways of working
