Our client is looking to hire a Manager, Referred and Product Marketing who will take the lead in supporting the product line strategy by managing programs aimed at positioning and improving their products. The manger is also responsible for supporting the growth of their referred business by driving marketing strategies and programs that support the company's business development team and position them as a partner of choice for providing Canadian homeowners aged 55+ with financing.
Major Elements of the Role:
The Manger, Referred & Product Marketing, is responsible for managing the company's suite of products throughout the product lifecycle while also championing an exceptional user experience. The role will be focused on sales enablement, product positioning, as well as marketing collateral development and management. The incumbent will work across the organization to manage digital and product project deliverables and serve as a key subject matter expert in a continuously evolving competitive and regulatory landscape.
Product Marketing
- Act as overall Project Manager to ensure successful end-to-end, flawless implementation of marketing projects including the development of all timelines, interdependencies, intake forms, and marketing requirements
- Conduct product planning and research with an aim to recommending the best way to market and promote their products
- Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
- Lead the co-ordination of cross-functional team members including Sales, Marketing, Client Services, IT, Legal, Risk and Operations to launch new products
- Monitor product performance along with market trends, sales and partner feedback, customer needs, competitive information and market research, to analyze and evaluate product performance
- Ensure the appropriate management of all contract changes and appropriate product disclosures and product documentation
- Track key business metrics and contribute to forecasting of referred business and other KPIs
- Prepare weekly reports and maintain project dashboards that highlight progress to date
Referred Marketing
- Support the management of the B2B marketing budget, including the review of monthly costs and forecasts to ensure that spending is on track
- Work with the sales department and other departments to prioritize the development of marketing materials in an efficient manner
- Liaise with B2B partners, including Mortgage Brokers and Banks, to develop effective marketing campaigns
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations for all B2B marketing activities
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels which could include: Digital, including website and email campaigns. Print, including the development of customer and partner-facing marketing collateral. Face-to-face, including trade shows and other events
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
- Work with Risk & Compliance Teams to ensure Marketing Teams have the appropriate level of oversight as it pertains to all regulatory requirements
- Ensure the implementation of Regulatory Requirements, including, working closely with cross-functional team members including Risk, Compliance, Legal, and IT to assess business impact and development and implement findings
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in financial industry product and marketing management, with subject matter expertise in the Canadian consumer mortgage industry, home-secured lending and insurance products is a definite advantage
- Bachelor's degree, MBA or a graduate degree an asset
- PMP designation is a definite advantage
- Experience working with vendors & agencies to source marketing services and promotional items cost-effectively
- Experience in lead generation, business development, managing marketing campaigns, Salesforce.com and/or marketing automation platforms an asset
- Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret large sets of data and draw insights, strong financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills across the organization, especially with sales teams and management
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and high degree of proactive "hands-on" thinking & acting
- Strong creative aptitude with the ability to make informed recommendations
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience leading cross-functional working groups to manage projects to successful completion
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
- Ability to drive change and challenge status quo
