The 30 unit Pallet Village is designed to provide temporary housing in a safe and dignified manner to those experiencing homelessness in the CBRM. Providing 24/7 support services coupled with case management and wrap around services, the goal is to support people in transitioning to permanent, stable housing.
About the Opportunity
The Manager/Support Services Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of the Ally
Centre and supervise a team of shelter support staff. They will be responsible for the oversight of services, the facility and effective day-to-day operations of the shelter using a trauma informed and harm reduction approach.
Responsibilities
● Involvement in staff hiring and training
● Overseeing staff and insuring policies and procedures are followed
● Review and revise policies and procedures regularly to insure consistency with ACCB,
New Dawn and the Pallet Dignity Standards
● Intake and referral
● Case management including: housing placement, primary care, addictions and mental health, goal setting
● Handling, storing and protecting client files and personal information
● Developing and implementing support programming in collaboration with partnering organizations
● Capturing and managing data for both intake and evaluation
● Oversee complaints and violations with staff, tenants and community
● Insuring the grounds, units and surrounding community are clean and safe
● Guide staff in resolving difficult occupancy issues and disputes
● Schedule and oversee staff and residents meetings
● Order supplies, keep an inventory
● Adhere to the approved annual budget
● Other duties as assigned
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
● Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or discipline (Social Work, Social Services) and/or relevant experience
● 2+ years of experience supervising, managing, evaluating, training and coaching staff.
● Experience monitoring operational budgets
● Ability to develop and implement effective strengths-based housing programs which assist tenants in building personal skills, improving health and goal setting
● Experience in working with homeless and at-risk populations

Hours

Compensation and Incentives
$65,000.00 annually to start
