As a Marketing Research and Insights Specialist, you will help marketing by leading and managing tasks and projects across a variety of marketing functions. You will support marketing operations as the key stakeholder managing research project scope and deliverables with internal and external partners. You will be familiar with the Canadian advertising landscape, the latest marketing research methodologies and common syndicated media data sources including Vividata, Numeris and Comscore. You should be able to distill insights from research and present them to the team on an ongoing basis. You also have an eye for recognizing relevant trends in data and the ability to guide big picture learnings into action. Where others see spreadsheets, you see stories!
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with marketing and strategy teams to identify research objectives, sharing information with other researchers.
- Liaise with US research counterparts to lift and adapt insights from their wealth of research and work to ensure efficiency and collaboration.
- Develop an overarching research learning plan to meet the business' objectives.
- Responsible for determining research methodologies to align with business objectives.
- Designing screeners, guides, and questionnaires that align with target segments and research objectives.
- Manage and analyze both qualitative and quantitative results to uncover rich insights.
- Prepare and present learnings from various types of reports across marketing functions (including Brand Health Studies, MMMs, Customer Churn Studies, Target Segment Reports, and marketing trend research)
- Bring customer insights to life through data and exceptional storytelling with impactful presentations that inspire and align stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Partner with the Analytics team to cross reference findings and draw out insights.
- Proactively stay up to date with research tool updates, technology, and offerings
- Answer questions and find information for employees, agencies, and partners.
- Help team members and leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- University BA / BS in related business or marketing specialization required.
- 3-5 years of marketing research-based experience working cross functionally with product, marketing, web design, and content teams on qualitative and quantitative market research
- Academic and practical experience with a wide array of new products, brand, advertising, and customer satisfaction research methodologies.
- Proven track record leading market research or related field for a large international business.
- Experience collaborating with third party vendors to construct surveys, recruitment of research participants, and leveraging automated systems to also recruit participants.
- Excellent ability to both lead and partner collaboratively across a range of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Meticulous approach to quality and quant-based research and data analysis, deriving useful insights by synthesizing inputs from multiple data sources to unlock growth opportunities.
- Strong task and time management skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and duties simultaneously.
- Independently motivated, with the ability to take on and own tasks and duties without immediate direction.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and extensive experience using Microsoft and Google Office suites.
