Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About the Role
Schedule: 7x7 rotation
Position Reports To: Training Superintendent
Position Overview
Reporting to the Training Superintendent, the Mill Training Supervisor is to manage, train, mentor, coach, develop Mill Trainers and Employees. Primary responsibilities will ensure that all trainers and employees receive the knowledge and practical training on all areas of the mill operation, in accordance with the MTCU Modules, OHSA, Regulations 854 Mines, Mine Plans and company standards.
In this role you will be required to foster healthy relationships and maintain communications with all stakeholders to co-ordinate, execute and complete the training requirements. The role will require the development and approval of lesson plans, SOP’s, JHA’s, underground induction, training plans, training materials, documentation and record keeping.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Common Core and all specialty modules training with respect to mill operations along with site specific training on equipment.
Ensure that employees are trained to perform their duties using best practices, adhere to mining process requirements, quality, and efficiency.
Solicits feedback from trainees and performs remedial training as required.
Deliver one-on-one, small, or large group training.
Communicate effectively with trainees.
Ensure that training records are maintained, accurate and signed.
Support mill activities and assist in attaining department metrics.
Provide input on cross-training strategies.
Follow lesson plans to ensure all trainees are given minimum subject matter as per the MAESD training standards document.
Mentor experienced employees who are providing additional coaching.
Assist in development, implementation, and continued application with our Learning Management System (VISTA) program.
Monitor employees and ensure follow-up training is in accordance with the Progression Plan.
Work with the Safety team and other departments to establish training procedures to be used throughout the mine site.
Develop and assist in the implementation of Continuous and Process Improvement ideas.
Qualifications
Post secondary education in education or training is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in mill operations.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing and delivering training programs, preferably in an industrial or mining setting.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading and motivating a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of milling processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
Basic Common Core accreditation.
Certified Train-the-Trainer that satisfies the Train- the-Trainer Program Requirements.
Knowledge in the OHSA, the Regulations and company standards.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular, Word, Excel and Power Point.
Standard First Aid.
Fall Arrest, Aerial platform.
