MINE SAFETY & TRAINING SUPERVISOR

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Mine Safety & Training Supervisor for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.
It is a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their leadership ability and expertise in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Under the guidance of the General Foreman and Mine Manager, the Mine Safety & Training Supervisor maintains regulatory and corporate compliance of safety and training programs.
Additional responsibilities of the Mine Safety & Training Supervisor include:
- Maintaining key documentation required for regulatory and corporate safety compliance.
- Updating and maintaining operator rate programs for all Mine Maintenance and Production Departments.
- Staying current on Provincial modular training requirements and providing updates and recommendations to the Common Core Signing Authority.
- Organizing and maintaining records for modular Common Core refresher training.
- Creating and revising safety policies, procedures, and Visual Work Instructions.
- Maintaining Ministry of Labour required safety programs for Mining Guidelines and risk assessments.
- Updating emergency response plan quarterly and distribute to all required locations in the Hagersville Mine.
- Preparing training material for monthly safety meetings.
- Maintaining working operation of gas detection equipment.
- Maintaining explosive magazine licensing requirements, and daily inventories.
- Exercising personal safety promotes safety through professional conduct.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated and be able to complete tasks with minimal oversight.
- Must be able to present to small and large groups.
- Must have the ability to facilitate teams to achieve common ground on decisions.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Must be willing to participate in additional internal or external training programs as required.
