The Barrie KOA is currently looking to hire in our Guest Services department. Seeking individuals who have a passion to work in the outdoors while providing exceptional customer service, a strong work ethic, and are seeking an opportunity that provides individual growth. This individual would possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment, while taking on multiple responsibilities at once. We will have opportunities for outdoor Guest Services Team members who are able to work a variety of shifts, on a rotating schedule throughout the summer season.

Position Summary: The Guest ServicesTeam Member has the ability to provide exceptional customer service to all guests, allowing them to enjoy a memorable camping experience. This role includes, but is not limited to, working outdoors while completing both Guest Service tasks as well as general campground maintenance. As part of the Guest Services Team you will be required to work both independently or in a team while completing shift tasks which include site cleanup, garbage removal and on-site deliveries.

Position Responsibilities:

  • To provide excellent and friendly Guest Service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to all guests needs. Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome and professional demeanor.
  • To assist in the maintenance of property, facilities, and general upkeep of the campground and equipment.
  • To contribute to the organization and operations by following all KOA guidelines and procedures.
  • Work well in a team environment, accepting instruction from supervisors and managers on duty.
  • Report all guest problems, requests or complaints to the campground manager or shift supervisor and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible.
  • To oversee verification of registrants i.e. check to see that campers arriving have registered, have proper site assignment and proper site assessment following departures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Campground Owners/Manager.
  • To implement daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaning programs as instituted by the campground owners or management. Examples include, but are not limited to these areas; pools, weeding, landscaping, road repairs, cleaning of buildings, garbage pick- up, pizza and wood delivery, washrooms, games room, laundry, pet playgrounds and other campground facilities and equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Have experience or expressed interest in this field.
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Must be able to safely operate various maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of pool operations – assistance will be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of safe handling of chemical properties, handling, and usage.
  • Speaks the English language fluently. French would be an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Applicants must be able to complete mandatory training in April, prior to season start.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, May - October.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to hear and respond over a walkie system.
  • Work in all weather conditions both indoor and outdoor.
  • Be able to be on their feet for a full shift, 4 - 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Long periods of standing, bending, and kneeling

Wage & Hours:

  • Wage starting at $16.55, or student minimum wage (should it apply) $15.60
  • May, June, September & October primarily weekends.
  • July & August shifts vary through the week as needed.

  • Friendly, helpful and professional Guest Service delivery.
  • Demonstration of a positive attitude with guests, management and Team Members.
  • Greet all guests with a positive attitude and well-groomed appearance, a smile, recognition and a proper KOA uniform and name tag.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Careful, honest and accurate money handling.
  • Promotion of Barrie KOA and the entire KOA system.

Reports to: Management & Owners

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: From $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
