The Opportunity:

Reporting to and under the general direction of the Parks Supervisor, the Parks Operator III performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance, construction, repair and alteration of Parks. Duties vary with the seasons. The Parks Operator III is also responsible for overseeing the team with the Parks Gardener in the absence of the Parks Supervisor. Key responsibilities include: leading and supervising landscape maintenance construction projects, performing maintenance on turf, sports field and playgrounds, assisting with pruning during winter months and other duties assigned by the Parks Supervisor or Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Related post-secondary diploma such as Turfgrass Management
• Minimum of three years of experience in all aspects of parks operations (parks, turf and tree maintenance, snow removal and outdoor ice maintenance).
• Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of 1 year experience for 1 year of education
• Previous supervisory experience an asset.

Licenses and Certifications

• Alberta Class 5 driver’s license;
• Sports field Level I and II;
• Outdoor Rink and natural Ice making course is an asset
• Pesticide Applicators certification
• CSA Playground Inspection is an asset

Salary: $62,541 - $78,176 annually (40 hour/week) dependent on experience. The City of Lacombe offers an excellent benefits package and generous vacation entitlement.
