Position Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator facilitates the admission, discharge, and patient transfer processes at GR Baker Memorial Hospital, and is responsible for coordinating patient/resident care across Quesnel Health Services when necessary. The role promotes the efficient allocation and utilization of beds to determine patient placement and support patients receiving quality care. The Patient Care Coordinator assists the Program Managers in establishing and maintaining standards of Patient Care and is responsible for coordinating the operations of Quesnel Health Services in the absence of managers, department heads and senior administrative personnel.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating
GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds.

• Full Emergency Medical Care
• Laboratory
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Pharmacy
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Otolaryngology (ENT)
• Community Cancer Care
• Physiotherapy
• Respiratory Therapy
• Environmental Health
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology
• Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas.
• Home and Community Care and Home Support

Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Five years recent acute care experience with one years' supervisory experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
