POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and accuracy of our payroll in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Employment Standards, Service Canada, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and other applicable legislation, governing agencies, and acts. The Payroll Clerk will also be responsible for other finance duties such as accounts payable, and monthly sales reports.
Your day may include:
- Accurately prepare and process, within strict deadlines, hourly and salaried payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- Verify timesheet and investigate anomalies.
- Ensure payroll transactions are accurate and in compliance with applicable legislation.
- Respond to payroll-related enquiries by providing specific payroll calculations, information, and explanations of applicable legislation.
- Analyze and manipulate data, both within Excel and the payroll system.
- Supporting cheque preparation, cheque run processing, and online payment processing.
- Processing and filing Accounts Payable invoices.
- Prepare and post journal entries in accounting system.
- Completing bank deposits.
- Reconcile and balance GL accounts.
- Prepare monthly reports.
Must Haves
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
· Ability to problem solve in order to research and escalate issues
· Comfortable with technology, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Ability to recognize and prioritize opportunities for improvements and efficiency
