Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist is as follows:

• Preparation and processing of accurate and timely bi-weekly payrolls in compliance with the employment agreements and Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines
• Maintains the integrity of the payroll database in Ceridian Dayforce, ensuring compliance with stablished procedures and internal controls
• Preparation of timely and accurate year end reporting (T4’s, etc.)
• Resolves employee and system issues and interfaces all payroll related issues
• Prepares accurate recording of payroll and allocations in Dayforce
• Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation and reporting of payroll related remittances
• Continuously monitor changes to federal and provincial legislation impacting payroll and advise management when action is required
• Ensure compliance with legislation and organizational policies and procedures
• Other ad-hoc duties including reporting and any other projects as required
• Preparation of month, quarter, and year end payroll reconciliations, working papers, analysis and reporting
• Cross trained as a back-up for HRIS Analyst

TMGMS

• A payroll certification is required (PCP)
• At least 5+ years of payroll experience, and coming from an accounting/finance background
• Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working with high volume/larger payrolls
• Experience processing payroll for employees in non-unionized environment, both salaried and hourly
