Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist is as follows:
- Preparation and processing of accurate and timely bi-weekly payrolls in compliance with the employment agreements and Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines
- Maintains the integrity of the payroll database in Ceridian Dayforce, ensuring compliance with stablished procedures and internal controls
- Preparation of timely and accurate year end reporting (T4’s, etc.)
- Resolves employee and system issues and interfaces all payroll related issues
- Prepares accurate recording of payroll and allocations in Dayforce
- Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation and reporting of payroll related remittances
- Continuously monitor changes to federal and provincial legislation impacting payroll and advise management when action is required
- Ensure compliance with legislation and organizational policies and procedures
- Other ad-hoc duties including reporting and any other projects as required
- Preparation of month, quarter, and year end payroll reconciliations, working papers, analysis and reporting
- Cross trained as a back-up for HRIS Analyst
TMGMS
- A payroll certification is required (PCP)
- At least 5+ years of payroll experience, and coming from an accounting/finance background
- Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with high volume/larger payrolls
- Experience processing payroll for employees in non-unionized environment, both salaried and hourly
