Payroll Specialist

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of national, provincial, and local payroll regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities & Duties

• Contribute to the successful payroll processing and administration of payroll utilizing an end-to-end in-house payroll system.
• Track and verify employee bi-weekly payroll, vacations, leaves of absence and retroactive payments.
• Monitor, audit, and reconcile payroll account balances to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare all government remittances as required by law within the timeframes required.
• Response to inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
• Prepare year-end reconciliations and reports.
• Other payroll duties and projects as assigned.

Preference is given to candidates with the following asset qualifications:

• Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) Designation
• Master’s degree in accounting
• Experience in programming and automation.
