Product Manager
On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Product Manager for a six (6) month engagement based in Burnaby, British Columbia. This client is pleased to offer a remote work model for this role.
Product Manager Job Details
  • Develop the product configuration and development strategy for the digital referrals and orders platform in BC.
  • Collaboratively define and prioritize the expectations and structure of product requirements, features, and user stories, and communicate them clearly to the product team and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the successful implementation of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile principles and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from the users, customers, partners, and other stakeholders into the product development process.
  • Guide and mentor Product Managers, product owners, project managers, and other members of the team, providing feedback, coaching, and direction.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication within and across the product management teams.
  • Encourage cross-functional cooperation and create an environment that fosters innovation and teamwork.
  • Oversee the use of best practices in the creation, refinement, and prioritization of product backlogs.
  • Lead the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring that the product meets the needs and expectations of the patients, providers, and other users.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic objectives and ensure healthy backlogs are maintained.
  • Review and seek governance approval of product deliverables, such as wireframes, prototypes, mock-ups, user interface designs, user manuals, test cases, etc.
  • Assist in sprint planning sessions, ensuring realistic commitment and accurate estimation.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business analysts to define acceptance criteria and break down user stories.
  • Sprint Review and Retrospective:
  • Conduct sprint reviews and retrospectives to evaluate product increments.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance team performance.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Collaboratively manage communication with the Clinical Program Manager and Program Manager for stakeholders to provide updates on progress.
  • Address concerns and ensure alignment between business objectives and product development efforts.
  • Collaboratively define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on metrics.
  • Monitor and utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making and improve team efficiency.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with product configuration and development.
  • Work with Product Managers to develop mitigation strategies and communicate risks to DRO leadership and external stakeholders.
Deliverables:
  • A DRO product strategy document.
  • A product roadmap that aligns to the strategic direction from the product owner and shows the planned features and releases of the product or product line over time.
  • A product backlog that contains the detailed requirements and user stories of the product or product line.
  • A final product that meets or exceeds the expectations of the users, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.

Product Manager Mandatory Skills
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related discipline
  • Must have 15+ years working in regional or provincial health care environments
  • Must have demonstrated 10+ years as a Product Manager leading and delivering enterprise level products which includes familiarity with product backlog management and prioritization techniques
  • Must have demonstrated managing IT system/infrastructure implementations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a complex integrated clinical system environment
  • Proven experience in successfully implementing and overseeing Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience in creating an innovative and inclusive team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and addressing concerns effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to define KPIs and analyze performance metrics.
  • Ability to use data-driven insights for decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience in identifying and managing risks associated with product development.
  • Ability to develop effective mitigation strategies and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive and challenging situations
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with Senior Management team and Executives
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills dealing with senior executive and clinicians

Product Manager Nice-To-Have Skills
  • PROSCI or other Change Management certification desirable
  • Certification in Agile/Scrum (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster) is highly desirable and preference will be given to certified candidates.

Product Manager Assignment Length
Six (6) month contract with the potential for three (3) extensions of six (6) months each.

Main office located in Burnaby, British Columbia. Consultants may work remotely within Canada. Consultants will need to support PST/PDT working hours for the duration of this contract.
