We are looking for a Production Manager to join our team in FreshPoint FreshCuts in Richmond, BC.
Reporting to Production Operations Manager, the Production manager assumes responsibility for the management of all aspects of the production operations. The incumbent is a proactive, strategic thinker whose skills contribute to the efficient and profitable operations of the department. The Production Manager will work closely with the Production Operations Manager to provide leadership and direction for the department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production plans to ensure orders are completed on time.
- • Determine headcount requirements and labour utilization needed to achieve production and business goals.
- • Optimize, implement and successfully manage department activities while maintaining high quality standards.
- Track component yield rates ensuring that actual results meet or exceed business goals.
- Supervise, motivate, and coach Produce Processor Leads and Supervisors to drive department efficiency and productivity.
- Review performance and identify training needs for all production staff.
- Work closely with Sales, Merchandising, Operations and Management to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Direct, coordinate and monitor daily activities and performance standards for department.
- Address production issues relating to product quality or machine breakdowns as they arise.
- Continuously assess daily production goals and provide recommendations to maximize efficiency.
- Oversee employee relations and participate in staff selection, performance assessments and corrective actions, as necessary.
- Manage work performance through motivation, delegation and provide feedback as necessary.
- Conduct regular department meetings to foster employee engagement, communicate any changes to company policies and procedures, address employee concerns, foster idea-sharing and suggestions for improvement.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
- Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in related field
- Minimum 5 years experience working in food processing, food distribution or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a lead or supervisor, managing production lines in a related industry.
- Experience with implementing GMP and HACCP.
- Other related food safety or quality certifications an asset.
- Experience with computerized production equipment.
