This acclaimed pub in Cape Breton requires a dynamic, experienced team player to lead the team in a year-round role. Throughout the golf season, the manager will oversee all aspects of the outlet’s operation while ensuring that it works as a fully integrated amenity to this world-class golf resort. Overseeing daily operations, catering to large groups, and scheduling live nightly music, all while ensuring the business remains actively involved in the busy summer schedule of community events within the community of Inverness. The successful candidate will be able to offer a strategic business plan that can be adjusted and enhanced as needed to ensure the business's viability while supporting the ongoing off-season efforts of the Food & Beverage department in anticipation of the following busy summer season.
Salary in the $55K-65K year range plus gratuities and subsidized accommodation.
DESCRIPTION
- Strategic Planning: Identifying opportunities to maximize revenue and control costs in a challenging seasonal market. Creating new streams of revenue and enhancing existing offerings with a continued focus on meeting budget and performance targets.
- Hospitality and Customer Service: Enjoy interacting with customers, addressing their needs, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Team Leadership: Overseeing and inspiring a team consisting of servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Embracing leadership and consistently being a dependable team leader.
- Problem Solving: Finding enjoyment in troubleshooting and maintaining composure in hire pressure environments while resolving customer complaints, navigating staffing concerns, or tackling operational issues.
- Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to the small details, including table settings, menu presentation, and food plating, can have a significant impact on the guest experience.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous restaurant management experience
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in NS (19)
- Serve Right certification (or equivalent) required
- Must have experience with Point of Sales systems (i.e. Micros)
- Extended knowledge of food, beverage and the daily function of a fast-paced establishment
- Must contain working knowledge of wines, spirits and beer
- Must be professional, personable and well-presented
- Ability to work flexible hours – weekends, evenings, late-night as required
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail-oriented
- A criminal background check required
