PURCHASING CLERK
(REGULAR PART TIME)
One (1) regular part time Purchasing Clerk position is available within the Materials Management Department at Palmerston District Hospital.
This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced clerical and computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Hospital and medical/surgical supplies required
- Purchasing specific training would be an asset
- Knowledge of Hospital Inventory Management system
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position (carrying, lifting, keyboarding, multiple and simultaneous demands and interruptions and occasional exposure to hazardous materials)
- Must possess CSA standard safety shoes
- Ability to operate related equipment (lift truck)
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Cross-site position requiring duties to be performed at two sites of North Wellington Health Care
- Physically demanding position that requires carrying, keyboarding, regular lifting and unloading materials of 55 pounds, dealing with multiple and simultaneous demands, interruptions, outdoor work and occasional exposure to hazardous materials
HOURS OF WORK:
- Day shifts as per department schedule
- As per Collective Agreement
SALARY:
- $26.58 - $27.42
