As a Quality Assurance and Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PEIMS). You will provide oversight of Quality Assurance during pressure equipment services and repairs, as well as perform inspection of new and in-service pressure equipment. Primary duties include:

  • Develop detailed documentation outlining the processes and procedures for operating and maintaining pressure equipment and Assets.
  • Implement training programs to ensure that personnel involved are well-versed in PEIMS procedures and compliance requirement.
  • Conduct regular assessments, audits, and compliance checks to verify adherence to PEIMS.
  • Develop maintenance strategies, plans, and schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Maintain documentation of all preventative maintenance activities and integrity assessment process.
  • Liaise with ABSA and other jurisdictional authorities to manage and plan integrity assessment programs.
  • Collect and analyze historical data and create a detailed inventory of all pressure equipment and Assets.
  • Identify and coordinate testing techniques aimed at assessing the integrity of pressure equipment and Assets.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to guarantee the integrity and quality of newly installed, serviced, or repaired pressure equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records documenting inspections, services, and repairs performed on pressure equipment.
  • Ensure that all services and repairs adhere to established processes and procedures, ABSA regulations, and other applicable safety codes.
 
Qualifications 
  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in welding technology, mechanical technology or a related field and at least 5 years of directly related experience.
  • The following certifications are required:
    • CWB Welding Inspector Certification CSA W178.2 - Level 2 or Level 3.
    • ABSA In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate or proven eligibility to meet requirements for certification.
  • Proficient in regulatory and industrial codes and standards that govern pressure equipment integrity.
  • Proven experience with gas code regulation, structural steel fabrication and inspection, QMS building & implementation.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • Owner inspector experience in accordance with ASME B31.1 & B31.3 will be an asset.
  • Owner experience or a combination of owner & shop fabrication experience in ASME Section I, Section IV, & Section VIII Div. 1 will be an asset.
  • Experience as an ISO Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems (or equivalent) will also be an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, effective technical writing skills, problem solving and consultation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, train and mentor staff and effectively communicate complex technical information, regulatory codes and standards in a clear and concise manner.
 
Working Conditions: Office environment and daily work in an industrial power generation facility at Bonnybrook Wastewater Treatment Plant with exposure to high temperature and pressures. Exposure to noise, odors, physical hazards, and the potential of confined space entry which require PPE.
 
Note: You must be eligible to obtain Confined Space Entry Certification (training will be provided).
