We are seeking a QC Inspector, who is responsible for ensuring our products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance to meet customer expectations & standards.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings & schematics (mechanical & electrical)
- Use basic mechanical tools & measuring equipment (hand tools, tape measures, fillet weld gauges, etc.)
- Use basic electrical tools & measuring equipment (multimeters, power supplies / transformers, etc.)
- Work with shipping & receiving to inspect & approve incoming materials
- Perform initial, in-process inspections & measurement checks on structural steel assemblies (I-Beam, C-Channel, HSS, angle iron & formed flat sheet materials).
- Perform welding inspections (in co-ordination with company welders / welding supervisor) on finished products
- Perform mechanical inspections & testing on finished products
- Perform Point-to-Point testing on electrical wiring connections on finish product
- Perform operational / electrical functional testing on finished products
- Prepare inspection & testing reports and maintain QC records
- Initiate & create reports for identification of non-conforming products
- Collaborate with engineering & production on continuous improvement initiatives & opportunities
- Assist with the continued implementation & improvement of company ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Able to travel to supplier locations and customer project sites (minimal & mostly in Ont.)
- Perform any additional duties or tasks your supervisor requests
Job Qualifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products
- Self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and be a good team player
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills

- Problem analysis and problem solving
- Knowledge of steel / welding codes & techniques as asset
- Knowledge of electrical devices and codes & standard an asset
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System an asset
