RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST
Job Summary
The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of hourly positions in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Key accountabilities range from sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, making job offers, and onboarding activities/orientations for new hires. Note- this role primarily requires an in-person/on-site commitment (some flexibility and opportunity for hybrid work).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment of various hourly positions in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Use various sourcing techniques, such as online job boards, referral network, community outreach, and databases, to post job ads and identify potential candidates.
- Build talent pools and attract candidates using innovative sourcing solutions with a variety of platforms: social media, job boards, networking, career website, and other technologies.
- Review resumes, and reach out to potential candidates via email, phone, or other avenues to discuss job opportunities and assess interest/suitability through pre-screen interviews.
- Coordinate and conduct in-person interviews to assess candidates' qualifications and suitability for roles.
- Extend job offers and coordinate onboarding activities/necessary paperwork for new hires.
- Complete candidate reference checks as required.
- Conduct weekly in-person orientation to review company policies and health and safety items with new hires.
- Attend career fairs and other community recruitment events as required.
- Maintain records of recruitment activity, applicant tracking, and turnover/separation data.
- Compile weekly/monthly stat reports and provide additional recruitment metrics when required.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation and corporate policies and procedures.
- Provide a consistent, positive experience for all candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process through communication, updates, and transparency.
- Attend meetings and assist the Human Resources team with projects and other initiatives to support business operations, as required.
Skills And Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field preferred, as well as knowledge of relevant employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, AODA).
- Previous related experience (minimum 1-2 years) including full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Organized self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables for a wide variety of recruitment related tasks to execution with minimal supervision.
- Proficient and creative with MS office applications; comfortable using technology and various recruitment platforms.
- Ability to make decisions with confidence and accuracy in a timely manner pertaining to the full cycle recruitment process.
- Experience using various sourcing techniques, such as social networking, direct initiatives, employee referrals, creative advertising etc.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy always.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective and collaborative team player.
