As the Regional Manager of Maintenance andCapital Assets, working hand in hand with the respective Directors of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our organization's physical assets and infrastructure. This leadership position will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, overseeing maintenance operations and strategic planning for Capital Assets within your region.

*Please note this is not a remote work position and the ideal candidate must either reside or be willing to relocate to the Okanagan area.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management:

  1. Direct and supervise maintenance teams in the region to ensure optimal functioning of all facilities and equipment.
  2. Develop and implement maintenance procedures and best practices to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.
  3. Monitor the performance of Maintenance staff and service providers, setting and achieving performance targets.

Capital Asset Planning:

  1. Collaborate with senior management to create a long-term strategy for capital asset acquisition, maintenance, and replacement.
  2. Assess the condition of existing assets, prioritize replacements or upgrades, and develop a comprehensive capital asset plan.
  3. Budgeting for capital projects and ensuring cost-effective execution.

Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
  2. Implement and enforce policies to guarantee the safety of employees, tenants, and visitors.

Vendor Management:

  1. Oversee relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to maintain and enhance asset quality.
  2. Negotiate contracts, assess vendor performance, and make recommendations for improvements.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions regarding asset Maintenance and replacement.
  2. Provide regular reports to senior management detailing maintenance activities, asset conditions, and Capital spending.

Education and Training:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for site maintenance leads and their teams to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain assets effectively.
  2. Provide ongoing education on the latest industry best practices, emerging technologies, and safety standards.
  3. Facilitate orientation sessions for new site maintenance leads, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

Operational Commissioning of New Sites:

  1. Lead the commissioning process for new facilities within the region, ensuring that they are brought online efficiently and safely.
  2. Collaborate with project management teams to integrate new assets into our Maintenance and Capital asset strategy seamlessly.
  3. Develop and implement standardized commissioning procedures to guarantee the optimal performance of new assets.

Oversight of Bus Maintenance and Operations:

  1. Take responsibility for the Maintenance and operations of our bus fleet within the region, including regular inspections, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
  2. Collaborate closely with the transportation department to ensure a seamless operation between Maintenance and bus services.
  3. Oversee the bus Maintenance and operations teams to guarantee the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our bus services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, and/or a certification in a specific trade related field.
  • Hands on experience in construction or trades are a plus.
  • Proven experience in Maintenance and Capital asset management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to asset management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to travel to our communities in Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton as required.
