As a Site Supervisor at Whitaker Construction, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing on-site operations for 1-2 large-scale custom home builds. Your responsibilities will include supervising subcontractors and team labour to ensure adherence to project plans, monitoring project progress to meet milestones, maintaining smooth and efficient site operations, facilitating the needs of project partners on-site, troubleshooting complex installations, and conducting walkthroughs with subcontractors, inspectors, architects, and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily on-site operations, coordinating and monitoring participating trades.
- Organize safety boards and site desks with necessary documents, including construction drawings and safety protocols.
- Ensure alignment of on-site work with current drawing packages and project schedules.
- Schedule Whitaker team labour and coordinate with the Project Manager on labour requirements.
- Establish material take-offs, pickups, and orders as needed, ensuring timely delivery to project sites.
- Maintain site safety and adherence to OHSA standards, including PPE and COVID protocols.
- Monitor project schedule and milestones in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Protect finished surfaces from trades and Whitaker work.
- Monitor internal project conditions and provide updates to the Project Manager.
- Upload progress photos to project management software.
- On-site collaboration and problem-solving of complex installations.
- Receive and allocate materials efficiently.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in identifying and addressing issues with finishes and structural problems.
- Ability to read and analyze architectural drawings, including structural, mechanical, and interior plans.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to direct trades effectively.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Extensive expertise in structural framing, steel erection, and finish carpentry/joinery.
- Willingness to execute various tasks, including framing, electrical, plumbing, demolition, and labour.
- Proficiency in residential framing, drywall installation, trim work, taping, and adeptness in door and window installation.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and sketches, as well as generate comprehensive material lists.
- Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating meticulousness in all daily tasks.
