The Municipality of Central Elgin is a progressive, growing, urban and rural municipality located on the north shore of Lake Erie in the heart of southwestern Ontario adjacent to London and St. Thomas. The Municipality is responsible for the maintenance and construction of approximately 410 km of urban and rural roads.
The Municipality is currently seeking to fill seasonal full time seasonal positions to assist with augmenting full time regular staff in the Parks and Recreation, Roads and Water/Wastewater department. The positions are for 40 hours per week from mid May to early September 2024. Parks and Recreation positions must be available for weekends and Statutory Holidays.
Reporting to the respective Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of municipally owned roads, Parks and beaches. Duties include garbage and litter pickup, minor grass cutting and trimming, operation of equipment, public washroom sanitization.
Desired qualifications:
• Able to work as contributing member in a team environment
• Good physical condition.
• G2 drivers license
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience in horticulture and/or landscaping and some construction would be considered an asset.
Hourly rate: $17.02
