Seasonal Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Administrator
Under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Finance and within established policies, procedures and guidelines assists the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Departments with administration and clerical services as they relate to duties related to Receivable and Payables within the FMS Building.
Niagara Parks compensates at a rate of $23.56 to $28.96 per hour. This position also offers a $1.43/hour in lieu of benefits. Applications for this position will be accepted until February 26, 2024.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Community College Diploma (Accounting) or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Knowledge of security procedures and internal controls.
- General knowledge of accounting methods/procedures and strong mathematical skills.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- One-year related experience and one on the job.
- Knowledge of general best practices related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Ability to work under strict deadlines; strong interpersonal, organization skills; and ability to resolve routine operational issues.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Accounts Receivable
- Responsible for the daily creation and processing of customer billings/invoices along with related payment application against those charges and processes refunds requests for over payments as required.
- Reviews daily charges/vouchers received at NPC Revenue Producing facilities; verifies contractual rates to billings to ensure compliance.
- Completes on-line customer reporting requirements and reconciles information to ensure correct billing and sales allocations.
- Responsible for maintaining and processing customer credit card charges (recurring and non-recurring) against outstanding account balances while adhering to PCI compliance polices.
- Generates and balances monthly aged trial balance report and applies entries as necessary. Distributes report to appropriate managers with respective comments regarding delinquent accounts and payment status.
- Reconcile the Accounts Receivable ledger and control log to ensure that all billings and payments are accounted for and properly posted. Researches any discrepancies by checking invoices, sales receipts and bank deposit records. Maintains detailed customer files and miscellaneous Accounts Receivable schedules and lists.
Accounts Payable
- Receive & Match Purchase Orders and vouchers, accounting for any discrepancies to provide accuracy for vendor payments.
- Performs data entry from Purchase Orders and Invoices including invoice dates, terms, apply dates, applicable taxes, etc.
- Accountable for investigating past due invoices and outstanding purchase orders/invoices.
- Issues and maintains new vendor numbers/files. Confirms terms, method of payment, tax codes, addresses and other related information.
- Assists with the preparing of weekly cheque processing, pay register, abstracts, adjustments, and accurate filing of invoices.
- Supports other departments at the FMS Building as required.
Performs Other Related Duties
