The Solar Lab is a media company that is geared towards empowering everyday people to go solar. It’s centred around a YouTube channel that's carving out a new lane in the solar space, blending education & entertainment.

The Position in a Nutshell

We are looking for a content creator with a punchy editing style and a great sense of humor. This person will play a critical role in the evolution of our fast growing channel.

Initially focusing on creating and deploying short-form content for YouTube, Instagram & Tiktok, this role is designed to evolve into a full-time position that involves the creation/editing of our long-form content for YouTube along with community management.

This role will involve constant training and mentorship from our leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a growth-minded individual who is hungry to learn what it takes to run a successful Youtube channel or business as a creator.

Your Responsibilities:

• Managing the creative process for all short-form video content, from receiving raw footage to publishing high quality videos
• Appropriately edit, resize, and modulate high quality content, in an entertaining and engaging manner
• Experiment with our content and use data to find new ways to engage and grow our audience
• Learning and developing your video editing skills to assist in the creation of long form YouTube content
• Community management and engaging with our audience

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with content creation and/or video editing, for YouTube and Social Media
• Understanding of all social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok &
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Remote, but has to be able to attend in-person meetings

Experience with Final Cut and Photoshop is considered an asset.

Knowledge or an interest in solar is considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
