The Opportunity
Our South BowPipe Integrity team is growing to meet our business needs to function as an independent operator and we are looking to add a new team member in Calgary, AB to support our Pipe Integrity Program.
We are seeking a Junior Engineer (or Engineer-In-Training) to support a diverse team of engineers working to effectively implement our Pipe Integrity program to ensure the safe operations of our pipeline systems, and compliance with regulations.
What you’ll do
- Analyze In-Line inspection reports for integrity management purposes and quality assurance
- Interface with inspection vendors to assess anomalies and data quality
- Develop excavation programs to ensure timely remediation of features
- Participate in data management initiatives
- Support senior engineers with a wide range of integrity threat management activities in the areas of, cracking, fatigue, dent, corrosion, risk, damage prevention and in-ditch assessment and repairs
- Write engineering assessments, technical memos and reports as required
- Support regulatory engagement and reporting activities for Canadian and US regulators
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
- Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training in good-standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pipeline operations or integrity
- Knowledge of integrity related PHMSA, CER and AER requirements, including changes within latest revisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and interpret data, and convey information to a variety of stakeholders
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
- Travel across North America to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up 10% of work schedule)
