The City of Kenora is looking for students for summer employment! Reporting to the Risk Management & Loss Prevention Officer, this position will help complete the City’s critical job inventory and the corresponding Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, this position will assist with investigations, staff training, and document creation as required.

Qualifications:

• Must be a full-time student in the 2023-24 school year at a secondary or post-secondary education institution and be returning to school full-time for the 2024-25 school season
• Candidates enrolled in a post-secondary program in Health & Safety, risk management, occupational health, or a related field would be an asset
• Must be available to attend and complete mandatory safety training and orientation
• Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in data collection, hazard analysis, or safety inspections would be an asset
• Possess good communication skills with ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Possess a valid driver’s license (minimum G2) in good standing is required
• Valid standard First Aid or AED training would be an asset

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Rate: $18.13/hr

Students will be required to provide the City with a clean criminal record check, driver’s abstract, and proof of enrolment if successful in a summer position with the City of Kenora.
