Position Title: Summer Student – IT, Business Analyst 

Team and Location: BRP – Calgary, AB

Position Summary: 

The IT Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional Business Analyst support to various IT projects and initiatives, for the 8-month term. As a member of the IT team, you will assist in analyzing and gathering business requirements gathering, test preparation and execution, and training activities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements. 
• Work closely with the Delivery Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team. 
• Assist Project Manager in gathering and reporting Project KPIs. 
• Assist Manager, Business Analysis in creating and refining BA templates.   
• Liaison between IT and business to translate each other’s technical terms for better understanding of requirements, issues, and foster cohesive working relationship. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

• You are available for an 8-month term beginning on or around May, 2024. 
• You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Candidate must have completed the 2nd year of their program.
• You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities 
• You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment 
• You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment 
• You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions 
• You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
• Solid understanding of database concepts and ability to develop SQL queries.  

You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
