Scotiabank is embarking on a major initiative to modernize end to end Payments technology and processes. The end result of the modernization program will enable the bank to offer enrich information and transparencies to support the rapidly evolving payments community.
This position is for a Business Systems Analyst on the High Value Payments Technology team. The successful applicant can expect to be involved with story/MVP definitions, business process change managements, impact analysis, application development, test strategy and post production supports. The candidate will need to have a breadth and depth of experience in financial industry, ideally on Payments process in order to devise solutions that will integrate appropriately
Successful candidate will be given opportunity to become subject matter expert in 360 degree of SWIFT payment processing, involve in enterprise and potentially industry level discussions. Work within an environment that cultivate leadership skills for career advancements.
Is this role right for you?
- Translate requirements of functionality into user stories & actively participate in product backlog prioritization
- Excellent knowledge in the domain of payments (Swift knowledge will be excellent)
- Identifying opportunities for process and system improvement
- Working within a Agile environment, collaborate with developers and business stakeholders on system changes, upgrades and new implementations as needed
- Leading integrated and user acceptance testing to ensure that the system meets the outlined requirements
- Contribute to delivering projects on target, scope and quality
- Transfer knowledge to peers and foster a culture of learning in becoming subject matter experts within your domain
- Communicate effectively across diverse audiences, departments and levels acting as a SME in the assigned line of business
- Actively participate in retrospective sessions to continuously improve processes and practices
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- Excellent knowledge in the domain of SWIFT wire payments and processing involvement in Payments Canada modernization programs or global SWIFT initiatives will be a plus
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Experience with large scale software delivery
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and experienced in Agile methodology
- Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, business, information sciences or other related field
- 5+ years of in baking experience and/or leading payment modernization initiative
- SWIFT operational experiences an asset
- Agile execution experience
