Southside Pet Hospital is a new pet clinic in Kelowna and is seeking a FT Veterinary Assistant who is a hardworking and compassionate individual to join our small animal practice. The position would be ideal for candidates have some past veterinary experience and to learn more about the veterinary field.

Duties:

. Using Covetrus Plus Software, will train

. Restraining animals

. Familiar with VS2 and HM5 machines, will train

. Dispensing medication

. Wrapping/sterilizing instruments

. Understanding the importance of hygienic protocol in the veterinary field.

. Communication skills and aptitude for customer service

. Resourceful with clients

. Kennel Care

. Answering phones

. Booking appointments

. Answer moderately complex questions.

. Initial triage of patient needs including emergent cases.

. Process billing and payments.

. Handles incoming and outgoing mail and e-mail.

. Ability to multi-task

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
- Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for all clients
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and data entry
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in managing client information
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
