SalaryWe are an after-hours animal emergency hospital in Surrey looking to fill a permanent full time position as a Veterinary Assistant. Applicants must be quick learners, have excellent communication skills, have an outgoing and friendly attitude, and take initiative in the workplace. Emphasis on availability to work overnights, stat holidays, weekends. We are open 365 days a year. Preference will be given to those who have previous veterinary experience or who have completed a VOA program. This position requires ongoing learning/training, so we are looking for long term employment, with current emphasis on weekend/overnight shifts for weekends.
Duties include (but not limited to):
Admission (triage) & discharge of patients; take payments; restrain patients; dispense medications; put together, wrap & autoclave surgical instrument packs; monitor vital signs during surgeries; medical record keeping; general hospital upkeep; handle isolation protocols; answer phone inquiries/client care; restraining & taking digital x-rays; running in-clinic laboratory work

Salary: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
