Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Pond Mills Animal Hospital is currently looking for experienced veterinary assistants/receptionists to join our growing and dynamic single-veterinarian practice on a full-time or part-time basis!

We are looking for candidates with experience in an animal health setting, working knowledge of Avimark, the ability to show compassion and dedication to a great clientele, and can handle stress with a smile. We want the candidates to treat our furry patients as though they were their own, possess excellent communication skills (with the team and with clients), are detail-oriented, reliable, and work well under pressure. The ability to multitask is a key skill at our clinic as you will be responsible for reception work, client communication via phone and email, food orders, lab work, and surgery setup.

Responsibilities include:

• Client communication via phones, emails, and PetDesk
• Reception Duties
• General patient care for hospitalized pets includes updating cage cards, making sure pets are clean, comfortable, and fed at appropriate times, ensuring their personal belongings are accounted for, and dogs are taken out for bathroom breaks at appropriate times.
• Assisting with animal restraint.
• Assisting the vet with appointments.
• Maintaining clean cages that are occupied or recently occupied.
• Ensuring the treatment room is cleaned throughout the day and as part of closing duties.
• Ensuring examination rooms are cleaned and stocked throughout the day.

With full-time employment, you expect to work 36-40 hours per week, including 1 to 2 Saturdays per month.

With part-time employment, you expect to work 10-15 hours per week, including 1 to 2 Saturdays per month.

We are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM; 8-hour shifts on weekdays and 5-hour shifts on Saturdays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour (based on experience) and we also include a yearly performance bonus! You can expect above-average compensation, flexible scheduling, and heavily discounted pet food and services.
