The Finance department is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness and validity of all financial transactions and production of month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, as well as reporting to external parties such as the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. It is also responsible for monitoring, controlling and reporting of hospital assets, including billing for semi-private and private revenue, OHIP, and other revenue sources. The department encompasses accounts payable (pharmacy), accounts receivable, payroll, accounting and reporting. The department works closely with external partners to support a strong financial internal control framework and accurate financial reporting.
As the Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for various tasks that may include but are not limited to, the billing and collections of patient and/or non-patient invoices, ministry, insurance and third party billing such as OHIP or WSIB, cashiering duties, communicating with patients and families, assisting with other clerical duties such as scanning documents or retrieving and organizing Finance mail.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
- One year post-secondary community college level accounting required
- One year Experience as an Accounting Clerk
- Experience with Meditech/Computer Training.
